Me and Katja went to help out Fenja with her final project at Hyper Island Motion Graphics. Basically it's about sports and movement and she will be shooting all kinds of sport from real strange angles. This is her shooting me and Katja on the balancebeam from straight above. It looks so cool and geometric.
We had so much fun, it was just the three of us and a trainer in he whole gym and we were just jumping around all over. It was actually so much fun that the two of us will start training again. Abs and bruises, here I come.

I just got a copy of the latest issue of National Geographic, a Twin issue. I read that there is a pair of twins who were separated at birth and rejoined at age 39 and found a scary amount of coincidents that they shared. They were both unknowingly named Jim, both married women named Linda who they later divorced, both remarried with women named Betty who they later had kids who also both were named James. All in all, very interesting reading!

The project is a website for aspiring authors where they can post books for publicity and feedback. The message in the video is "Think outside the books" and breaks the cliches as I'm the action author and Pavel plays a romantic author. Just look for yourself and see, they did a really good job.

Thinking about the future, where will I be. Please, dont I look like a lady who will end up in a studio with thousands of tiny little monsters that are all my creations. Thats all I wanna do, please.

I just spent the last month in school with a project that is so out of my normal boundaries. I have for 2 weeks been glued to the screen designing a gaming mouse for Starcraft 2 players. Are you guys hearing this! It's ugly as hell because apparantly, gamers like it like that. It has with no doubt been really good for me but it is also the exact reason I would never want to work as an art director. Most of the time you just get to design labels for cornflakes on extra prize and cheap perfume bottles. All while you claim that you are in a creative proffesion where you get to express yourself in the interactive out-of-the-box creative process that leads up to the ugly photoshoped corflake ad. I say this with lots of love.

Men samtidigt lite tragiskt. Det är liksom en viss sorts retorik som förekommer väldigt ofta i mitt day-to-day liv på en media skola. (För övrigt så är Hyper Island helt fantastiskt och inte alls lika ytligt och shiny som de föesta andra mediaställen, äkta liksom)

Daniel has been here all weekend and oh what a weekend it has been.

First of all any weekend with daniel around is an amazing weekend.

Second of all, Captain and Elias threw a very nice cocktail party and I wore my glittery shoes.

Let me tell you two things.

I am not a party animal but I do know this. For a balls-to-the-walls kinda night you only need to do two things right.

1. Wear glittery shoes
2. Run home.

I just need to down one or two beers to get my running mood on. I get this strange urge to run whenever I start to get tipsy. And if no one stops me or keeps me busy dancing I soon disappear, and most often that is because I set off on a little running tour, usually towards home.

The feeling of running really fast ( yeah it usually feels like you go a lot faster at night) through empty streets with glittery shoes sure can save any night. Especially if you are running to beat Daniel to the door.

And for me it's actually really handy because I really dont ever go out jogging or do any kind of training because I find it so boring. But at night for some reason I think it's really fun and come on, how great isn't it to wake up the next morning and have gone through a whole work out without even knowing or remembering. It's like running in you dreams, but it counts!

This is what a day was like for me and the other intructors when working in CR.

Wake up at dawn around 5.30
Maybe have a little surf for yourself to start of the day
Meet up the students, go through some theory and hit the water for around 2 hours, this means a lot of swimming!
Munch on the most amazing brunch in the world
Rest a little, maybe go repair some dings or book restaurants. Usually it's too hot to do anything in the middle of the day.
Another class, meet up with the students and hit the water again.
If there is time before the sun sets you can always squeeze in one more surf.
Yoga under the stars with out private instructor.
Dinnertime! time to take all the guests out for some yummy food.

D.I.Y LAVENDER OIL PRINTING

The printed graphics are not mine! I know the bearded one is a print from "The Ryde" tshirt brand and the indian one I unfortunately found without any credits. It's very pretty!

Katja showed me this really cool D.I.Y technique where you can print stuff on clothes using only a normal printer and lavender oil.

We are having a little pysselnight trying it out.

( yeah all you english speaking people get jealous because you don't have the amazing word PYSSEL. It's kinda like crafts and D.I.Y and glitter and scissor and paint and tea and sewing and more glitter in ONE word. A.M.A.Z.I.N.G)

You Need:
A black graphic printed on normal paper (remember to mirror it if it contains text)
Lavender oil (Katja says its best if it contains something with almond. The bottle was german so I couldnt really translate it)
A piece of fabric ( preferably tshirt fabric)

Here's how to:
Print a graphic you like on normal paper with a normal printer. It has to be an all black print. the more black the better!
cut it out roughly and tape it onto your piece of fabric ( it works best on tshirt fabric). Drop on some lavender oil and let the paper soak so you can see the graphics through the paper. After about five minutes, start rubbing HARD on the paper with a spoon. Rub til you arms ache! have a peak under the paper and see if it is coming of onto the tee. take the paper of and voila!

We have very few pictures of dad when he was little and none at all of his mother. When dad was digging for some old drawings in Granpas old archives at Dukes plantation he found a package wrapped in brown paper that contained a real childhood treasure. Hundreds of pictures of dad and grandma shot and developed by grandpa in his bathroom. So beautiful!

This is a shot of Eduardo in the summer time when he was still around in Karlskrona, I really miss my little hyper mexican buddy!

I got Daniel a double exposure lens last summer that we played around with a bit here on this shot. The perfect picture, half daniel half me. just like its supposed to be.

This one is a shot of my Grandpa with hit fat little sausage and his granddaughters, me and Hanna, playing wit coconuts and sunnies.

These are the only pictures that came out of the roll shot on my Lomography Diana. So much trouble, so expensive, so little exposures actually ending up with something on them. But my oh my are the ones that do pretty!

THE HUNDRED TIME FOR THE FIRST TIME

I'm so happy!
I'm finally jumping on a train back to Helsingborg, its been a long while!
And I'm especially happy because I will meet someone for the first time that I have met a million times before.

I also just spent a friggin fortune on developing old film rolls from my Diana. Why is it so expensive to develop 120 film! It kills my wallet. But oh well, the film was really damaged but it looks kinda cool.

I havent painted in a month because I haven't had the time. Tonight I finally sat down at my kitchen table together with Hanna, Francisco, some popcorn, Pineapple Express and lots of paint. I produced this creature sheet that was inspired by the classic insect sheets you find in school books describing the different species living in a certain area with really dreamy detailed watercolor images. Would you like to go to the area where you can find these spieces? its deep inside my mind.

I am back and kicking around in Karlskrona. School has started and on daytime I'm glued to the computer screen trying to learn Cinema 4D while listening to american tutorial voices breaking it down for me like I'm a retarded toddler. Which in this field, I am.

Waiting halls why are you so cold? Tanlines and salt flakes on skin feel out of place here.

I left Santa teresa yesterday on a local bus and a ferry to the mainland. 8 hours later. Now a stopover i New York awaits and tomorrow morning Reykjavik. After that comes Copenhagen and walking out of the baggage claim there always feels like home even though I'm not in the right country yet. I'll probably fall asleep on a train and whoop five hours later I'll roll up to the apartment that Hanna has promised to run around in to get the heat going. Home. 3 days of traveling feet later.

An amazing swell hit ST yesterday so I had a really nice goodbye session, or actually make that sessions in plural. I was a ragdoll after this monday of one earlybird sunrise session, a surfing class with the students instantly after, another one in the efternoon, and then another surfsession for me in sunset. Topping that of with an hour of Yoga under the stars makes that one hella workout day.

What is this frrrrrrreakshow walking down the beach?!
There are some hula girls, a naked pirate, a cowboy, a suited rockstar, a guy in a raincoat with warpaint and some guy on crutches. Wait what? It's the surfakademin championship! Creativity and inovation is key!

We always try to spice it up with a theme. This weeks theme was La Lora Amarilla. It's our neighbours, a local nightclub. To the ones who have never been there it can be explained by the people who hang out there. If you wear pink speedos and a cowboyhat while sporting a really red tshirt-tan and lots of drugs you are right at home. The trashier the better! We had people doing tricks on the boards matching the theme. First wave: lighted a cigarette. Second wave: opened a can of beer. Third wave: passed out on the board. Nice improv!

This to me is true happines! Grownups playing like children in the ocean. Surfing truly is childhood for grownups.

365 TINY TITANS

Check out my new project "365 Tiny Titans" where I create one new character everyday for 365 days.

I love putting a pair of eyes or more on objects born without them. suddenly inanimate objects come to life, I call them my tiny titans.

Once I did a creative challenge where 5 people was to draw a grid of about 20 squares and then draw an apple in each one. The first apple was dull and predictable but had to be done. The following ones where similar but as ideas ran out the apples started to change. It turned out our ideas hadn't run out, they had run wild. In the end the twentieth apple turned out to be the best

That is what I strive for and hope will happen to my tiny titans.

'Mission complete. the first period of the costa rica season is coming to an end and I can hand on heart say I'm damn proud of me and Igge for running this all so smooth. First times always brings along lots of bumps in the road and working at Surfakademin we both know that theyr'e pretty much a part of the daily workday. Being used to huge bloopers I think I was pretty nervous when doing this on our own but now It is deffinetly safe to say it's been the first week ever Murphy has left us (almost) completely alone. Yew!

This periods guests leave tomorrow and new ones arrives instantly. I'm super stoked! especially since one of them is an old really great friend.

I took a little break for once today and had a long walk down the beach all the way to Hermosa. My mind is clear and heart not as heavy.

Merry christmas to all the people I love.

Santa Theresa has totally scraped the idea of a commercial christmas (Thank god) so this santa hat is worth its weight in gold since I brought it from sweden. It is the closest we will get to a classic christmas. But we will be celebrating in our own way. Hopefully we will catch some fish and then make a bonfire on the beach. And then I cant forget to mention the 10 feet swell rolling in, apparently we all have been good this year.

I really miss my family, my friends and my class. Hope you all are amazing.

We have two pretty horses here on the ranch, Pepe Negro y Pepe Blanco. Me and Ignacio took a ride down the beach. I had a little fat horse once but after that I sorta got a little scared but you know what they say. Get back in the saddle. The horses are really nice but do not exactly come with break and gears. Sometimes they wanna run, sometimes they wanna run even faster. You just hold on.

We have arrived in Santa Theresa safe and sound. Got a little tour of the village which is basically just a gravle road with only jungle setting it apart from the beach. Very mucho najso. yeah.. i am working on my spanish.

The waves woke me up really early. No that actually sound like such a cliche. I acutally woke up because I really really really had to pee but I didnt want to wander down to the toilets in the dark. hah.

I didnt fly with my own boards this time (sad face) but since this place is only restaurants and surf shops it wasn't hard at all to go find a cheap old board in need of a little love. I took a morning surf in amazing waves trying to warm up some muscle for a hardcore boardwaxing session. 25 boards later... our arms where like spagetti but the boards are ready to go and tomorrow the guests and soon-to-be surfers arrive. We are so stoked! Papa Pochote + SurfAkademin is up and running for the season<3.

New york

I have been hit straight in the kisser and knocked flat to the floor with skyscrapers, tourists, vintage, sugar, ties, people and more people. Everybody is minding their own business and always seem to be heading somewhere very particular and important. I cant keep up with all the speedy men in suits and ties.

I'm not a big city type of girl but I do like exploring.

The first few days I was here with mom and Hanna. For anyone who doesn't know my mom she's an amazing plan freak and not a minute has been left out of our crazy-running-around oddyssey through the big city lights. People say it is impossible to see every single little corner and backstreet of this mega mastodont gray jungle but then again (repeating) you probably haven't met my mom. So after four crazy days my feet are no longer attatched to the rest of my body from walking so much. The cab dumped me on lower east side and my mom and sister headed home.

so... new adventure.

I am now staying with three really nice guys from the class above me who are doing their internships here and also an angry little radiator who sits in the corner steaming and snarling like a stormy little terrier. It's all good. Basically all I do now is walk around the city, exploring backstreets, spend all the money I'm not supposed to spend, drinking hot chocholate and eat amazing American candy. I have even been on a dinner date with a stranger I found in a store.

New york is starting to get a little too fast paced for me and I'm longing for open empty beaches. I cant wait til I get to trade exhaust gases and cigarette smoke for a salty breeze.

I will upload loads of pictures tomorrow!

Finally the butterflies are back where they belong. In my belly.

On Wednesday I'm off on this big adventure and I'm pumping up with good playlists while I'm packing a bag for one ice cold destination, and one sizzling hot. First I'll take on the streets of New york with my mom and my sister for a long weekend and when they leave I'll be brooklyn bound for a week. I'll be staying at a friendly strangers house in brooklyn and try to stay alive in the big city. I hate big cities actually because I feel like an ant so we'll see if I can keep up. I will probably be longing for the lonely beaches in Costa rica that are waiting next. This is where my real adventure lies because I will not only work with Surfakademin but this time actually be starting up and running the whole ranch and business down there. Exiting! I cant wait to go for a sunrise surf before pushing a student into their first wave. Love the concept of getting in the water before getting in the water!

The perfect storm is howling over Skåne and a class 3 warning has sounded with winds of 30 km/h. Most Swedes are cuddling up with blankets and frowns but the brave and the few are smiling. I think almost all surfers of Sweden has crawled out of where they've been hiding and headed to the cloasest coast to join in the fun.

Iv'e really missed the feeling I get when driving around the bend to the harbour in Mölle. The feeling of exitement of what the ocean will look like. Today the ocean was flat even though the forecast man said it would be storm so we just sat in the car and watched seagulls diving for fish. It was pretty nice to actually even though I really wanted to get wet.

well well So much stuff is happening and I'm stressing around like a little ant, I thought I needed to post an update to get some structure on this horrible week.

Monday morning, how I hate you. As if it isn't hard enough to wake up as it is, this particular morning was extra sad and gray. Loosing your eternal adolescence love, other half and partner in crime doesn't exactly cheer you up. 150 miles of traintracks did very unfortunately not work out but it will always and forever the two of us anyways in some way. I dont know, I dont think any letter, word or smiley can describe how crapy it feels so never mind, that stuff is not for the internet anyways.

Because of this I've had a major creative block which isn't all that good when you're in a situation where you have to deliver creatively in school, at work and at home. yeah I struggled but it all looks very good now. You know what they say, the best art comes out of depression.

Finally all the pieces have fallen into place for the exhibition and I will hit the road tomorrow morning. If you see a tiny girl with a big suitcase, 20 big framed artworks on 4 wooden easels on her shoulders its probably me. It will be interesting to see how I will get all this stuff on the train..

Tomorrow I will try to catch some surf with my dad back at our home break and then we will drive up to Stockholm.

Måste berätta om en sak som gjort mig väldigt glad de senaste dygnet! Ibland när jag kommer över någonting som jag verkligen tycker är kul så kan jag fortsätta att vara glad jättelång tid efteråt. Igår kväll våldgästade jag TV-spelsgurun Amina för att spela igenom hennes enorma samling. Det var mario kart här och där och Jag förlorade lite hit och dit. Men! nu ska jag komma till det viktiga. Vi spelade ett spel som heter KATAMARI, wow! så jävla roligt och onödigt. Man är en boll och så rullar man upp saker. The next three days at Hyper Island have been a mystery up until this morning when we recieved our brief. The message was clear and the aim was high. Mission: Create world peace.

Some airline tickets just dropped down in my mail inbox and I'm smiling from ear to ear. It feels like new air under my wings, my anual winter escape is secured.

After winter 2009 I decided that my skin and bones was not made for nordic winters and so I have sworn to never again put myself through that gray misery.

My escape starts with a long weekend in New york with my sister an mom, I am sensing a lot of shopping is lurking in the reed. Then they leave me and I will stay there for 5 more days alone, I don't really know what I will be up to but I've heard that it's not a place that leaves you restless.

Now, to my true destination, Costa Rica. I will be doing two of the things I love the most, surfing and teaching surfing. The setup is practically taken from a dream and it involves perfect waves, sun, a private ranch right on the beach, horses, yoga studio and everyday kickass surf lessons from me and my colleagues. We were going swimming after school but as usual school drags over til after dark so when we pulled up to the pool it was full of speedos working out... no rookies allowed. So plans change from training to going out grabbing a beer, we went out, and since it was a completely normal dull monday we ordered the most colorful drinks on the menu and had a good time. When it was time to hit the bed and call it a night someone dropped the joke of walking over to the pool and take the swim anyways.. so we did. Swimming tipsy. That was... eeeh... a new experience. Swimming & giggling.

I took a walk down the street and found a nice little second hand shop. When I walked in the door I was literally instantly stopped by a mountain of what appeared to be trash. I walked sideways like a little crab to get past the Fat old man standing in my way, I actually don't even think he saw me even though I was rubbing against him trying to squeeeeeze through to get into the shop. There was stuff from floor to ceiling in huge piles and narrow isles. This indoor junkyard was one maze I had to look around in. I climbed around in there for a good while and found lots of cool stuff until I heard a voice calling out for me. Is somebody in here? very right, I had squeezed past the fat man completely unseen and climbed around right behind his back for an hour without being noticed. Stealth is my middle name. I pulled out some stuff I wanted to bring home but had to convince the man to let me buy it. He was obviously very in love with every piece in there. I started to doubt that this was actually a shop or if I had walked into a strangers messy living room but after bringing out my puppy eyes he let me buy the two items on the picture. Next time I'll go in there I'll bring diving gear and an archeologist. I'm sure that fat man is sitting on a lot more treasure.

Hanna came over, we grilled sandwhiches, drank beer, painted and talked a lot. So much better than being home alone. I finally took time to make a bag for a really fancy camera lens that I need to stop throwing around like it is made of iron. Now it can stay in my handmade little thing and not get all scratched up.

Yes thats right. In the very near future (date is not decided I will come back to that) I will be throwing an exebithion at the very pretty surf store 6/5/4 in Stockholm. I am now making the plans and mass producing art like a factory on full speed. All I can say now is that it will be a cozy autumn vernissage that hopefully will involve wine, soup live music and you!

I love love love pens. If i see a pen lying around somewhere without it's lid my heart cries a little. I also have lots of pens everywhere and I'm not a tidy person but let me tell ya', my pens are in a damn good order. My pens are like the only thing in my life that is all about pure structure. Color coordinated and all.

I came home from school today and the apartment felt extra empty. Maybe because Daniel is in Barbados without me, maybe because winter just landed in KNA, maybe because Hanna wasn't home.. but anyways. I Felt a little lonely so I put on a Pixar flick, made a pot of tea and, drumroll, sew the pretty pencase on the picture! for my pens, my lovely lovely pens.

So now that I feel all handy, Hanna is back home and the radiator is maxed out I feel a little better. The only thing missing is my love who is probably shredding a wave to pieces on the other side of the globe. I'll just go to bed and fall asleep and be right there with him.

I am trying to get back to the time I was patient enough to sit for hours with my Wacom tablet. My old habits of painting in photoshop and illustrator has been on the high shelf for quite a while so I though I'd dust them of.

I am slowly looking around for places I can do my internship at. Most of the places I look at are character design, animation, illustration and film production places. To raise the odds of going to a really good place I am constantly working on my character portfolio ( even tho Im told you dont need a portfolio you just say "hey Im from Hyper Island give me your job" and they will) Although I dont believe in being hired for a name I beileve being hired for a talent, so Ill just keep working.

I came home this sunday and when I sat down at my desk by my goldfish bowl I noticed something was missing. I looked for long but couldn't find Molgan, I called Hanna over and we stood there and stared at the bowl for a while until Hanna noticed something sad on my desktop. Molgan was fed up with life and jumped out of the bowl. I didn't even know that was possible.

Why molgan, why? I feed you double as much as the instructions say. Was it because I didnt buy a ladyfish for you? because I turned the bowl into a gayclub? I dont want fishpuppies Molgan, is that so hard to understand? I'm sorry anyways. Now I will buy a smokin hot ladyfish so that the others will stay in the bowl. Rest in peace Molgan, I hope you enjoyed the ONE week you spent with me.

We just started our new module which is called exploring technology. It sounds so boring but the name definitely doesn't do it justice. It's actually the bomb!

We will during 5 weeks be brainstorming like crazy trying to get as nerdy as we can with tech. We are going to invent something really cool that has never before been done, the in the end we will all be hosting an amazing Expo in stockholm with all our rad invention that we have thought of and built ourselves. I generally dont really read school papers that are longer than a few pages but yesterday when I was reading this text, I just couldnt stop. It was soooo friggin good. I was actually so good that I will quote it. Right here. Right now.

Just came back from the weekend and I kinda feel like I am living a double life. In a bad way. On weekdays I am hanging in school in Karlskrona with my buddies here and on weekends I take the oh so boring train ride back to Helsingborg and cuddle up with my boyfriend and party with my best friends. I love both places but what I don't love so much is packing up, packing down, moving around and always missing people.
But well I had a great weekend. We went to Malmö for some second hand shopping and then we went out to dance at Babel.

I took the bus out to a shopping mall in the suburbs of Karlskrona to buy some housewares. Instead I came home with an aquarium and four colorfull little buddies in a plastic bag.

I am sitting here for one the simple reason that I wanted a pet. At first I thought I would get a dog, but then again that would never work ( or so I am told ). Then I thought I would get a little bunny or a gunniea pig or something. But that wouldnt work either because I'm not home on weekends. I was walking by a pet store and went in to ask them what kind of animal needs little attention but is still fluffy. There is none apparently so I came out with Molgan, Alfons, Eduardo and Black panter, four little guppies.

I sadly realized that there is a serious lack of art and illustration on here. The photos and words of my mediocre life has taken over. Mother of god, why hasn't anybody said anything?! My life is out there and apparently quite a few of you anonymous viewers are sitting out there in cyber space gulping up my private photos without even sparing a comment or two. What happened to give and take? Because I'm just giving and giving. And you are just taking and taking. I wanted to give before when I thought my mom was the only one reading my blog. But now that I know that there are people in frigging Brazil and russia or wherever that probably know me better than some friends, I'm not that keen anymore. I came home from Hyper and wanted to just hit the bed, problem is, I wasn't that sleepy.
(I am wondering how I could NOT be sleepy after a day of hardcore brainstorming for the new module, trying to come come up with something really cool to help Red Bulls online prescence)

I therefore thought it would be a good idea to bike back to Hyper in the rain, grab some really big papers, bike back and start a huge illustration project that I knew would take me all night to finish. I don't like to pause halfway through, if I go to have dinner in the middle of a painting, it will never be finished. Thats why I always either push all the way through and safe what I've done or not finish at once and then throw it away after lying around getting dusty for some years. So here I am on the floor with all my paintings and a big bathtub of tea, not even nearly finished. And bedtime has come and gone...

I'll post the artwork when I am done.

I woke up thig morning and I was 20 years old. WHAT on earth happened?! When? how? why? I want to be 15 again, being a teenager you can get away with anything. When you stupid shit people just go "aw but she's only a teenager, she will learn when she gets older" but now people will go "she's 20 she should know better". Whatever I am going to have an awesome day and celebrate and when I wake up tomorrow, I will be 15 again.

I hate hate hate being in front of a camera and I love love love being behind it. Despite this Eduardo managed to drag me out in the storm to the pier to shoot some stuff for a project of his.

Whenever I get close to the edge of a pier, boat or harbor I get and urge to jump in. I was constantly stoping myself to take a leap in to the water that was probably really cold.

WEEKEND LOVE

Weekdays are nowadays synonumous with missing and weekends with loving. I am always counting seconds to Friday. Not for the usual reasons of days off and such but because I get to see Daniel.
However this means that sunday always means goodbye, so nowadays I am always sad on sundays...
This particular sunday we layed in bed all day and then biked out to Saltö. This part was nice. The other half after droping Daniel of the train was not as nice. I basically did nothing all day and right in time for bedtime I thought of something to do. As always.
So now I am sitting by my desk making a timelapse of a drawing. I stole all the lamps in the apartment to get good lighting and the camera is taped pretty scetchy to an easel from which even more lamps are hanging. It looks kinda funny but it works. The video is a contribution to Imogen Heaps new music video competition. A friend of mine knows her well and tipped me about this. Hopefully I will get it. I'll post the video here as soon as it is ready.

Being in school is usually connected with being very unfree. Hyper Island is as unconventional as school gets these days with no teachers, no books, no grades, no lessons and no tests. It truly is free but the funny thing is that it is located in an old prison. So yeah, I am kinda doing jailtime here in hyper for 1,5 years. And I love it.
